West New York NJ toothache
If you have a toothache, you will want to contact our office, Michael B. Schwarz, DMD for care. We can provide you with emergency treatment for your West New York NJ toothache, and provide you with emergency tooth extraction, if necessary.
When you come to our dental practice, you will be seen by our expert and highly trained dentist, Dr. Michael B. Schwarz. Our dentist will carefully assess your West New York NJ toothache and let you know the cause of your problem. If you have a tooth which is painful when you eat something that is hot or cold, or when pressure is placed upon it, you probably have a tooth which needs to have a root canal treatment. If a tooth needs a root canal treatment in order to be saved, but does not receive the treatment, the tooth will eventually fall out on its own, or need to be extracted. If our dentist sees that the tooth cannot be saved by root canal treatment, he will most likely recommend that the tooth is extracted so that it does not cause additional tooth pain, and so that infection does not continue and spread throughout your mouth or to other parts of your body. Otherwise, if the tooth needs a root canal treatment, our dentist can provide this service for you which is successful in saving teeth in over 90% of cases. It is also very common for wisdom teeth to cause dental pain for our patients. This is because the wisdom teeth are the last teeth in the mouth to erupt and often end up becoming trapped underneath the gum line, or end up coming in in the wrong location due to the fact that there is no longer any room left in the mouth. In this case, wisdom tooth extraction will also solve the problem. Wisdom teeth do not need to be replaced once they are extracted.

West New York NJ toothache
If you are experiencing tooth pain, you should make an appointment to immediately come in and see our dentist at our dental practice, Michael B. Schwarz, DMD. Our top-notch dentist, Dr. Michael B. Schwarz will determine the exact cause for your West New York NJ toothache.
There are many reasons you may be having a toothache. Sometimes a patient has a tooth which has infected or damaged pulp in its interior. If this is the case, your tooth may be able to be saved with a root canal treatment. Our dentist can determine whether or not this is the cause of your West New York NJ toothache. However, not all teeth can be saved with root canal treatments. There are times when a tooth extraction is necessary in order to stop the tooth pain, and make sure that infection clears from your mouth. For example, if a tooth has damaged pulp in its interior, but the damage is assessed as too extensive, our dentist will likely recommend that you instead have a tooth extraction since it is not likely that a root canal procedure will be successful. Root canal procedures are successful in saving 90% of teeth. However, it does not make sense to perform a root canal procedure when you know it will not be effective. In this case, the tooth can be extracted at our dental office. Our patient will remain perfectly comfortable due to our use of local anesthesia. Another time a tooth may need to be extracted if it is damaged and cracked beneath the gum line. When this occurs, it is not likely that it can be saved by any type of dental procedure. Wisdom teeth are also a common cause of tooth pain. If our dentist determines that your wisdom tooth needs to be extracted, this can likely be done at our dental office, as well.

Ridgefield ZOOM whitening
If you have long wanted to have your teeth whitened, you should visit us at our dental practice, Michael B. Schwarz, DMD. At our dental practice, our top-notch dentist, Dr. Michael B. Schwarz, offers two different types of teeth whitening, including Ridgefield ZOOM whitening.
When patients come to our dental practice wanting to have their teeth whitened, our dentist will describe the two different types of teeth whitening treatments that we offer. We are very proud to offer Ridgefield ZOOM whitening for our patients who want to have their teeth whitened right here at our dental practice, while they relax in our dentist’s chair. Many dentists agree that ZOOM is one of the safest and most effective professional tooth bleaching systems available today. ZOOM is a laser bleaching system that will work to make your teeth whiter and brighter in one short one-hour visit. The amount of brightening that will occur during this treatment will vary from patient to patient. However, our dentist will be able to estimate what you can expect from this treatment system. Some of our patients’ teeth are whitened by up to seven or eight shades. We also offer a take-home system which our patients can use in the privacy and comfort of their own home, at their own convenience. This at-home procedure will provide our patients with excellent tooth whitening in a matter of days. Our dentist will discuss which type of treatment option will work best for you. Our dentist will also want to examine your teeth to make sure you do not have any tooth-colored fillings or porcelain restorations toward the front of your mouth which may need to be adjusted after the tooth-whitening is performed.

If you are putting off going to the dentist to get a dental crown because you do not want to have a series of visits to your dentist office, we encourage you to visit our dental practice, Michael B. Schwarz, DMD. At our dental practice, our dentist Dr. Michael B. Schwarz, is able to offer treatment with Ridgefield CEREC crowns.
Ridgefield CEREC crowns are an innovative way for patients to get dental treatment and permanent dental crowns all in one short office visit. In order to provide a Ridgefield CEREC crown, our dentist will use a computer to take digital photographs of the tooth that needs to be covered. CAD/CAM computer technology will then be used to develop a 3-D model of the tooth. All of this information is then sent to our in-house milling station. The same-day crown is then immediately milled, with the milling taking about 15 minutes. Our dentist will then be able to make sure that the crown perfectly color-matches the adjacent teeth so no one will ever be able to tell that you have it in your mouth. The CEREC crown will them be permanently attached to the tooth, and your total crown treatment will be completed. With this type of treatment option, patients are able to have cavities filled or other dental treatment performed, and get a CEREC crown to strengthen the tooth, all in the same day. We also offer regular crowns for our patients, but are happy to provide this same-day treatment as a popular option. The CEREC crowns are milled from a block of ceramic material. The total restoration process usually takes about one hour. Patients enjoy the fact that there is not any need to use messy impression materials. These CEREC crowns are completely made of tooth-colored ceramic material, and have no metal or silver components which will discolor your smile. The crown is also anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

At our dental office our expert and well-liked dentist is Dr. Michael B. Schwarz. Dr. Schwarz has been providing exemplary dental care to our North Bergen community for over 20 years. All of our patients are encouraged to come in for a regularly scheduled dental exam in Ridgefield. Dental exams are very important and cost-effective as well. This is because many dental problems can be discovered during a dental exam so that they can be easily treated while the problem is just developing. For example, it is much easier to treat a patient for a small cavity than to wait until the interior of the tooth is decayed and the patient needs to have a more costly root canal treatment. During our dental exam in Ridgefield, you will also have all aspects of your oral health examined.
Our dentist will make sure that your teeth are thoroughly examined for any signs of cavities, or wear that can be caused by TMJ or teeth grinding. If you have not had x-rays taken over the past year, you may well have a series of x-rays taken of your mouth. This will help our dentist determine whether or not there are any problems developing between the teeth or beneath the gum line. Your entire mouth will be thoroughly examined for any signs of oral cancer. You will also have your gums checked to make sure they are not developing gingivitis or already have developed gum disease. If it is determined that you have gingivitis, it may be recommended that you have several dental cleanings over the coming months to make sure that your gums return to good health. If you have deep pockets already formed between your teeth and gums, it may be recommended that you have a periodontal scaling and root planing treatment, which acts as a deep cleaning for the gums. During the dental exam in Ridgefield, our dentist will also make sure that your bite is not being negatively affected by teeth grinding, by or TMJ or other problems.
